About Inspiring Children to Empowerment (ICE) Society

Inspiring Children to Empowerment (ICE) Society

Helping kids and youth heal from the effects of domestic violence, trauma and loss through the best sport on Earth : Hockey.

The purposes of the Society are to:

  1. Assist with ice hockey registration fees and equipment for participation in local minor hockey organizations or other recreational hockey programs.
  2. Connect youth with positive role models through coaching.
  3. Host enjoyable ice sessions for children to learn hockey, interact with peers, have fun, and meet new coaches/mentors within the hockey community.
  4. Provide resources for off-ice training, nutrition, sleep, and overall well-being to help children focus on their physical and mental health.
  5. Facilitate networking opportunities for hockey families.

At ICE, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and thrive, regardless of the challenges they face. That's why we're dedicated to supporting children who have experienced trauma or loss by providing them with access to minor hockey programs. We understand the profound impact that sports can have on young lives, offering not only physical activity but also opportunities for social connection, emotional healing, and personal development.

Through our program, children are able to channel their energy into something positive, building confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging along the way. By participating in hockey, they learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, perseverance, and goal-setting, which are essential for navigating the ups and downs of life.

Research has shown that sports can play a crucial role in the healing process for children who have experienced trauma or loss. Engaging in physical activity helps to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, while also promoting a sense of control and empowerment. By providing these children with the chance to play hockey, we're not only giving them a fun and fulfilling outlet but also laying the foundation for their future success and well-being.

Join us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of these young athletes. Together, we can help youth heal, grow, and thrive on and off the ice.
